See, this is the most common problem that you will face. When we are not using the guitar, we keep it somewhere and when we play it, the strings are un tuned. So, to get over this problem, I always keep my guitars UP SIDE DOWN and not in cover because i use them frequently. In this way the tuning pegs doesn't touch the ground and hence your respective tuning is maintained.
(use this trick only if you are keeping for a while and not for long period)
